81-Year-Old Builds P-38 Fighter Plane
81-Year-Old takes a flight in his homemade WW II P-38 fighter

81 year old Jim O’Hara, a retired college professor, made a two-thirds-scale P-38 fighter replica and successfully completed its maiden cross-country trip with his wife. Jim O’Hara learned to fly 21 years ago and after six years, he started building the replica World War II Fighter with his wife.

He accumulated information from various sources on the P-38 and developed the plans using a computer aided design program.
O’Hara took his wife on his amazing adventure, who sat in a special jump seat he designed behind the pilot's seat.

As a world II Marine Vet, my favorite plane has always been the P-38.
There are no words to express your accomplishment. All you have to do
is look at the finished product. I have only one question as to what you used to power your project, and what is actual top speed.
God Bless you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
